Hoverboard

this was a nice quick project, its not movie accurate but it is good enough for who i built it for.
starts out like any other project i build, a card model

each part is actually a seperate element. i do that so that its easier to paint and fiberglass later. for this particular build i wanted to make it look as though it really was hovering so i added magnets into the base

the final paint i tried to follow as close as possible to the movie prop and in all honesty its not movie accurate but it turned out pretty great.

and this is the final piece, the magnets i installed made it possible to stay suspended above the thin plastic tubes making it look like it is hoveing above the stand. the photo and signatures are from the movie and genuine replicas. the delorean model was a basic card model i found online and modified using a little decoupage to make some of the details stand out
