iron man

this was to begin with a bit of a test build, in my mind this didnt turn out the way i wanted it at all but it did serve a purpose.
starting with a basic card model (i say basic but its actually fairly detailed) i then resin and fiberglassed the whole thing and gave it a nice coat of black primer. the reason i used black for this model in particular is because to get the best shine from the gold paint is to use a dark undercoat

just like in the movie i wanted the face plate to lift up, i added magnets into each of the sides to be able to have it lock into place but so that it was free to move up and down when i wanted it to
after painting it looked good...but something was missing

then i realised the thing that was missing was the added battle damage, it just looked too new :P

i havent added the lights in the eyes for this particular build just because i have begun work on a second one wich i will be including the full suit not just the helmet so stay tuned for that in the not too distant future
